How to Find and Enable AtScale in Snowflake Semantic Views
Two-minute setup — no separate install required
Admin Setup — Snowsight
- 1Build or open a Semantic View in Snowsight — a TPC-DS view works for the demo.
- 2Create the XMLA endpoint: CREATE XMLA ENDPOINT foo
- 3Attach the Semantic View: ALTER XMLA ENDPOINT foo ADD SEMANTIC VIEW bar
Consumer Use — Power BI
- 1In Snowsight, click "Connect a tool to Snowflake" and copy the XMLA URL.
- 2In Power BI, paste the URL into the server field; sign in with your Snowflake username and PAT token as the password.
- 3Open the Model tab — the full semantic model is already there.
- 4Confirm "Live Connection" appears in the lower-right.
- 5Build a visualization. Same metrics CoCo uses, by definition.
