What it does

Built into Snowflake.
Ready in minutes.

Turn on Snowflake Semantic Views XMLA Endpoint Powered by AtScale so Excel and Power BI return the same number. Every time.

There is no infrastructure to deploy, no parallel permission layer to maintain, and no separate billing relationship. AtScale for Semantic Views is the fastest path from a Semantic View to a governed, multi-tool analytics environment entirely within Snowflake.

One DDL command to deploy

AtScale is a Snowflake Native App. Enable it by running a CREATE XMLA ENDPOINT command in Snowsight — no separate installation, no infrastructure to manage. You are live in under two minutes.

Excel and Power BI on a live semantic connection

Once the XMLA endpoint is attached to a Semantic View, Power BI and Excel connect via a live MDX/DAX connection. Analysts see the full governed model immediately — same metrics the CoCo uses, by definition.

Governed semantics without metric sprawl

Define revenue, margin, or any KPI once in Snowflake Semantic Views. Every downstream tool queries that single definition. No more divergent Power BI measures that disagree with CoCo.

Snowflake RBAC passthrough

Row- and column-level security is enforced by Snowflake policies — there is no parallel permission layer to maintain. AtScale for Semantic Views inherits the access controls already in place in your Snowflake account.

Billed through Snowflake Marketplace

AtScale for Semantic Views appears on your Snowflake invoice. No separate vendor relationship, no new procurement motion.

Quick Start

How to Find and Enable AtScale
in Snowflake Semantic Views

Two-minute setup — no separate install required

Admin Setup — Snowsight

  1. 1 Build or open a Semantic View in Snowsight — a TPC-DS view works for the demo.
  2. 2 Create the XMLA endpoint: CREATE XMLA ENDPOINT foo
  3. 3 Attach the Semantic View: ALTER XMLA ENDPOINT foo ADD SEMANTIC VIEW bar

Consumer Use — Power BI

  1. 1 In Snowsight, click "Connect a tool to Snowflake" and copy the XMLA URL.
  2. 2 In Power BI, paste the URL into the server field; sign in with your Snowflake username and PAT token as the password.
  3. 3 Open the Model tab — the full semantic model is already there.
  4. 4 Confirm "Live Connection" appears in the lower-right.
  5. 5 Build a visualization. Same metrics CoCo uses, by definition.
